Performing Arts

Class Programs

All classes participate in specialist music lessons each week. Children in Kindergarten to Year 2 learn to play the glockenspeil; children in Years 2-6 learn to play the recorder. All students learn to read music and experience a wide range of musical styles in song, dance and instrumental performance.

Whole School Programs

Each year our students experience live performances at school through the Musica Viva program. Instrumental and vocal groups perform a concert for the children, with an emphasis on student participation. Students also attend concerts by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Every second year all students star in our school musical productions. Children dress-up, sing, dance, act and play instruments as part of this wonderful extravaganza.

Showcasing our students' talents

Each year our students perform at various venues in the local community as well as at the Sydney Opera House. They participate in dance, vocal and instrumental performances which showcase their talents. These opportunities include the NSW Festival of Instrumental Music, the Granville area "Our Spectacular" concert and the Concord Hospital Christmas Lights celebration. They make us very proud!
